Unhappy Clutch safety switch.. help!

So i somehow managed to f' up the clutch safety switch (don't know the exact name, the thing that prevents you from starting the car without the clutch pushed in). The switch won't fully push in with the clutch fully pressed; preventing my car from starting up. So I just taped the switch down so the switch is fully in so I can get my car started.
Now my question, can this cause any problems? at least until I can go get it fixed... Thanks!

If it's the starting issue with your clutch, warranty should cover it... In Japan, you don't have to step in the clutch to start your car... I don't really see any damage from doing that but I recommend bringing it into your dealer. It should be covered under warranty.

might get a check engine light from it. make sure that the contact pad is still on the clutch pedal. if its missing then the pedal wont fully close the switch when you press it. it should be located on the pedal where it will contact the switch when fully depressed

Disconnect the wiring harness and put a jumper wire between the contacts to permanently bypass it.

There is no trouble light or other symptom, other than the obvious "start up with clutch in/drive thru wall" thing.....

It wasn't the contact patch. The switch was actually partially stuck halfway in, leaving the switch open even when I press on the clutch. i have no idea how it happened but it did. i just ended up playing with the switch till it finally let loose. Oh well. Thanks guys
