Is clutch bracket covered under extended warranty?

After a 6 hr road trip , 2 blocks from my house, I was at a stoplight and my foot slipped of the clutch pedal. Some how causing the clutch bracket to break and causing the master cylinder to leak (now needing to be replaced). I have 62k miles is any of this covered under the extended warranty?

You will need to contact the people that issued the extended warranty. Is doesn't matter what anyone here says.

As far as I have seen, Mazda does not claim the clutch bracket issue as a manufactureing problem. Therefore, they refuse to cover it. But, it is always worth a shot to try.

Although I'm not a proponent of frivolous lawsuits, in this case if push comes to shove it wouldn't hurt to cite something like "this is a potential latent defect safety litigation issue", which it is. That always gets their attention.

Check out the clutch bracket failed weld thread.

^Correct me if I am wrong (it may have been a different thread where I saw it) but, in that thread, club members have been petitioning for a recall on this defect since 2004 to no avail. So are you saying to rather put a lawsuit against them versus the petition for a recall?

No, I'm not advocating an actual suit, but you can still say the words - it's been known to help in similar warranty negotiations.

Mine just snapped on the hwy at speed while on my way to transformers. I limped to the theater and had to have her towed home. Sucked and now I need to figure a fix before monday.
