When accelerating hard, I hear two clicks: one that happens around ~4250 RPM and another one that happens around ~4500. Sounds like valves "snaping" open and is very audible. A Mazda mechanic I know said it is probably from the manifold tuning valves? Any truth to this?

Stock, 78K miles, no other issues.
