What's up y'all this my first rx8 I got it a couple of days ago and it was running fine up untill today. Started when I was on the freeway noticed my car kick n start to miss just a little so I thought oh it's sensitive let me put some gas cause I was a little below a quarter tank. Got off no problem put gas car started right up and I took off thinking it cleared up. I get a couple of blocks from the gas station and it start missfiring worse then before so I get the car home park it turned it off n now it won't start oh and I was driving the check engine was flashing the whole time n it smelled like gas bad could I have just put bad gas?

check to see if all 4 plugs are firing.

you could do this manually by removing each plug wire by hand with the engine running but i wouldn't advise it.

but ideally hook up a timing light to each wire and crank the engine while checking the light's output.

Please dont use your hands to do this... Use spark plug wire pullers.

When you replaced your coil packs, did you diconnect the terminal from the battery? The CEL you now have could be a new code but it could also be a pending code that wasn't cleared. Have the CEL read with an OBD II reader, you can delete the CEL with that device but your code will still be stored in memory.
