Hi guys - I am a fairly new (5 months) RX-8 guy. I have a 2004 w/ 6 speed manual and 122K miles. It got a warrnaty engine at 95,000 miles and a new radiator at the same time. I recently had the CEL come on and I have my own Can OBD2 tool, so I checked the code. It also has "secondary air injection system" under the code on the machine. I haven't downloaded the reading to my laptop yet. Any ideas?

I also have the intermittent low coolant level light problem that I read about elsewhere in the forums. This is very annoying since it is a red light. I check the coolant regularly now and it doesn't seem to be low, but I overfill it to take the light off (temporarily).

Any help is greatly appreciated!

not sure about the code, but im sure someone will chime in. the coolant light could be the sensor in the resivior, it happenes. if your coolant is topped off and your not overheating it could be the coolant bottle which i think you have to replace the wholle thing. there is a thread on this if you use the search function.

Yeah, I read the thread on the coolant thing. Unfortunate. I am in Paoli. If any of our tech experts does have a suggestion for the code, please let me know. I am not opposed to doing some repairs myself!

Sounds like it's related to the air pump... Did you get the freeze codes? These tell you the RPM, Temp etc when the code was triggered.
