ON Cat problem

Ok guys here it is. I bought my car back in may, and just a week ago check englin light comes on and it turns out my cat is done. Mazda also showed me that the cat was replaced on the car when it had 40,000k on it and now it has 80,000k and I need a new one. I know this is not a coincidence so i need to know what can I do to prevent my rx8 from eating cats for breakfest because they are not cheap.

As for this time i got lucky because the cat had a 7 year warranty and its only 5 years old...but still 2 cats in 5 years is pretty bad. Please give me some advice. Thanks guys

yeah, the same thing happened to me. my cat failed at about 60k miles and i just ran a cat delete to an HKS hi-power catback. you can either do what BLACKRX82006 did and upgrade your ignition or use it as an excuse to upgrade your exhaust lol warranties only last so long. and trust me...your cat will fail again. although cat-delete pipes arent street legal, but where i live it not monitored. good luck though.

I got a metal high flow cat on my mid pipe and save my OE cat for smog, that way I stay legal on street and also pass smog when it's time.
