MA Cat issues

Hi everyone, I have a 2008 rx8 GT and just recently my cat went bad. The only thing that ive done to it is put a K&N typhoon intake into it and the only issue i can see with this is that there is a piece that connects to the stock intake system but not to this one. Its a little green peice that connects, and looks likes its a part of the air mass flow unit but im not sure what it does any clues?

If your cat went bad check your ignition components not your intake(although you should get rid of that POS as well.) Do you have a picture of the little green piece you are talking about?

You might have some failing coils or you might need to replace your spark plugs or wires, maybe even all 3 depending on the last time you did this.

Me and my friend took a look at the green peice, and found out how to mount it into the k&n intake after some time so thats not an issue any more. What coils / wires are you talking about? the car only has 35k miles on it so i shouldnt be getting that many problems here.
