car wont's start, help!

i got in my car the other morning and when i turned the key, i just the rapid clicking. it was fine the day before, it was just all of a sudden. I had a battery to my dad's lexus in the garage and hooked it up and it started just fine. so i went and bought a new battery and it wouldn't start again. i took the starter to O'Reily's and they tested it and said it was good. Now the car sounds like the starter gear is spinning but it's not engaging. any suggestions?

Solinoid or starter drive; did you check the flywheel teeth when you had the starter out?

same thing happened to me and it ended up being the flywheel. i'm the least mechanically inclined so not offering any advice, just experience since it happened recently. BTW, it was covered under the 100K mile newly extended warranty.
