This all happend in a matter of 3 days,

Day 1 CEL comes on, the 8 goes to mazda I pick ip the 8 runs great. Mazda said I just needed to re flash my ecu.

Day 2 CEL Comes on again Now my 8 has a misfire. Go back to Mazda change my plugs and turn of the CEL. I drive away all happy

Day 3 CEL is back, Go back to Mazda my 8 failed the compression test and I'm getting a rebuild engine.

I heard that a new engine will not perform as well as the orginal. Is this true? Has anyone had this happend? What should I expect? Should I look into getin an 09 instead or try to ride this out my 8 has 65k on her an is an 04 but I never really had any major issues so I guess I really don't have a choice right?...to make matters worse I'm driving around i a dam Dodge Nitro. I miss my 8 an it's only been 5 hours

 

Did they offer a loaner? It will probably take three weeks.

 

Yeah I got a loaner (dodge nitro).. Now there saying I just needed plugs and wires and if it misfires again there gonna replace the engine. What I don't get is I already failed the compression test. How will plugs and wire build up my compression?

 

They replaced my motor at 60,800 miles. Its never run so good or been so responsive. This was before they extended the warrantee to 100K. I did have to pay for new belts, mounts, etc. about $1200.00. They paided for the rest and gave me a loaner car.
