Car won't start after bleeding brakes & clutch

First off, please read the whole scenario below before commenting.

I'm stumped on this one, and pretty frustrated to say the least. As the title says, out of good practice I bled the brakes & clutch on the car in preparation for the season, and now the car wont start. I get a loud, fast ticking sound when I try to turn the car on and the engine doesn't turn over. I drove the car onto the hoist before doing the brake lines/clutch line fluid with no issue, and the car had a brand new starter installed about 2 months ago. There was a booster pack on the battery with plenty of power so that can't be the issue.

Does anything in the brake system/clutch system have the ability to cause this? I've bled the clutch/brake lines every spring for the last 8 years I've had the car...don't understand what could have gone wrong?

You have a grounding problem most likely, unless the battery is actually low. Disconnect the battery, clean the terminals, and then reconnect, making sure that the clamps are well seated before you tighten them down. If they are fine, try jumping to another car. Fast clicking is enough voltage to trigger the starter relay, but not enough voltage to power the starter, or keep the relay open, so it keeps cycling.

I would bet on battery voltage ....poor connections with the booster pack,,,or just plain low voltage on both battery and pack

Get a known good battery and try again with good connections...if it still does it then let us know

If it wasn't clicking I would have suggested that you knocked off the trigger wire on the starter solenoid.....but if iis clicking that's likely what is doing that

Thanks for the help everyone. I cleaned the battery connectors and it worked I've been working on cars for a very long time, and I've never seen a car start, drive on a hoist, then not start within a matter of 2hrs and have it only be the battery connectors that caused it. Glad it was the cheapest fix possible, but really hope there isn't an underlying issue I'm missing.
