So first i just changed plug coils and wires less then 1k ago my car has 67k on it and is a 04 auto. Now i can drive long distances no problem but recently if i have to go up and down very hilly road where i end up in 3rd gear alot every once in a while when i stop the idle will drop close to 500 and stall. It starts back up no problem i rev it to 3k a couple times and off i go. everything else is completely normal. like i said only after a long drive with some very hilly roads. i can take a 1 hour drive into the city and it runs fine. any ideas. and it never has problems restarting after a stall

 

what maintenance have you done? Air filter, maf and eccentric shaft position sensors, cat converter checked, etc?
Compression test time?

 

Air filter is fine compression is fine i guess next ill check the cat and maf sensor

 

what were your compression numbers?
sounds like a problem with the cat.

 

dont know the number the dealer just told me compression was at normal levels on both rotor but after i drive to work tonight ill look under the car and see if the pipes are glowing and ill pull the cat over the weekend and see if its clogged
