I just bought a Rx-8 used from the dealer only ran 19000km. For some reason when I release the clutch, and put the shift in neutral, I can hear something rubbed, and the car shakes a bit. What can be causing this problem? How can I fix it? How much will it cost? Also how can I take good care of my Rx-8 so it will last long. When is a good rpm for me to shift gears? I've had times where I switch from gear 1 to gear 2 and where the car just started to drift. How did I do this? It is my first time driving a manual. -_- Everything I need to know about the RX-8, please let me know if you have the time. Thank you for your time and consideration. Cheers!

 

Sorry i cant answer your question , but im also having same problem as you. When i release the clutch a little and make the car roll , it shakes and makes a wierd , ummm rattle/squeek noise , coming from the rear. Cant really describe the sound , but is that what you're talking about? Im taking my car to mazda just incase , better to be safe then sorry. Oh and , when you shifted from first to second....and it just rolled , were u holding in the clutch? LOL Because it will do that.

-PS. DId you get the owners manual? If so follow the maintenance schedule , and every 1-2 gas fill ups you should top off your oil , since the rotary drinks up oil. I shift from around 3k-4k , and when theres open road with nobody close by i rip her up to redline
