Radiator DIY is not that difficult. Also very worth it for $96 vs $400. Since they even said they could have damaged it, I would be very stern and assertive and argue the repair cost stating that you had tested (you tested because you were diagnosing for the problem) the radiator before taking the car to them and it was working just fine. So obviously they must have damaged the radiator. And as MM said, the engine is a rebuild engine. There is no way in hell they would give you a new engine let alone one from Japan. I am seeing these people at your dealership are con artists or just plain idiots.

They probably are con artists, they were at Firestone. They didn't say they damaged it, but it was a suggestion my co-worker said "they might have." Which can be true, since I always do the oil change/maintenance, and the car has its own car-port. That means, I should have noticed a leak of some sort. Or possibly the coolant light come on?

It just happens that its been over 2 weeks since my girl hasn't had her car, so I have been having to drive her around. But, she does want to contest them. But, I figure its hard to prove without substantial evidence, that it was them, since they could whip around some technological garbage.

You said they told you the radiator is "bad". What exactly is "bad" about it? Did they give you a reason for coming to that conclusion?

That is all they said, but they they talked to my girl. I will probably find out today what the real problem is.

Angry Mazda dealerships are a rip off!!

I just came back from the stealership, and come to find out they unlawfully installed the Radiator.

They said we should have contacted them prior and not wait so long, and they had to install it. I looked at the old radiator and this was the part what was damaged (not the actual one).

He then said he would "take care of it," which I do not know what this means. He said he has to rely on either his tech's word, or our word.

Next time, I would suggest taking it to another dealer. Good luck!
