car not cranking

car wasnt used for a week or two and now i couldnt start it. it was cranking(saw the pulleys move) and then not anymore. its just a whining sound from the starter.

i deflooded it thinking it was the problem but its not cranking now.

ive replaced the starter and its still doing it. relays still seem intact

any suggestions?

Check your battery to see if it's charged

Your battery could be junk. It happens. If you can, test the voltage of the battery.

Make sure your battery connections are clean and tight.

u probably need a new engine if new battery fails.

mine did the same, and i got a free replacement unit.
some minor problems still persist though

I dont understand your logic, if the battery fails he needs a new engine ?
OP, your not mistaking the air pump working for the whining noise?
Clean your battery connections, all of them, make sure the single wire for the starter solenoid is attached properly. Was it a new starter you installed, you can test the starter by jumping a cable from the heavy cable on the back of the starter and the solenoid terminal to see if the starter has failed. When you do this, make sure the trans is in neutral.

Drop the starter and connect a battery to it, check to see if the gear in the starter is throwing out far enough.
