P2405 cel

okay, so this pops up once in a while, tells me a i have a large evap leak. I tried other gas caps thinking thats what it may be. Also I read that it could be my pcm but does not tell me why. Has anyone every gotten that cel before?

look man, i'm just looking for a solution, so instead of you fishing the forums to find an attempt to bump your posts by posting stupid comments find something better to do. I've been on this forum long enough to know where to look and what to do. If i had no more info to give i would have given it. So like i said code turns on I check it then clear it. Then a few days later keeps coming back and I do the same cycle. So all I want to know if someone has had this code before. So I suggest you find another thread and go post on it. If you wanna be a dick,.

It's an evap code. Even if you've put your gas cap on right after the code, it takes a few drive cycles for it to clear. Or you could just have it cleared with a reader. If it doesn't come back, you're in the clear.

Do you have any other codes?
Was anything else happening when the code popped up?
Have you done any mods or maintenance lately?
Are you experiencing anything other than a CEL?
Have you checked for Vacuum leaks?

I just gave you an opportunity to offer up more info. Even by answering no to all of my questions give others and myself something else to work with other than a code that randomly pops up.

I'd suggest testing for vacuum leaks. Your EVAP system is pressurized. If it's leaking you'll get a code.

I'm not trying to be a dick yet. I can if you want. I've quoted my previous posts and deleted the others since you're worried about my post count. I usually post stupid pictures if i have nothing of value to add. Take it as you will. Good ******* luck. I'll leave your thread be now.

Code 2405 was common way back when, the sensor was set too sensitive.

There was an ECU update that made it much less common, you could check with your dealer whether your car has been updated to the latest 'flash'.

Otherwise you need a new gascap.
