car broke down-help

I got the loss of power today. My loss of traction light came on, check engine light came on, and it wouldn't move. I put it in neutral and it stayed revved up to 3k.
I've heard that mazda extended the warranty to 8years 100k. But is there anyway to confirm this so that my local mazda dealer believes it?
Is my engine totally bad now?

Thanks for any help

There is an 8 year 100k warranty on the engine, I wouldn't worry about the dealer though.

Take a look at these TSB's and see if any fit your situation.

AT or MT? Im assuming AT, it may be bad from your description but I wouldnt jump to conclusions just yet. Let your dealer look at it and assess what is wrong.

I believe the 100k warranty is engine internals only. There's a lot that can go wrong that won't be covered by that warranty extension.

I had a similar thing happen to me this morning. I lost power and the check engine light started flashing so I put it in neutral and it came back to normal. This is the second time this happened within the past two months. Mine is a AT and recently the dealer changed the engine for a non engine related problem and to find out it was a rotor in the tire . 600 miles on new motor

Since the traction control light came on... your car went into limp mode. This is normal. When the car senses you loose control too much it shuts down into limp mode.

i took it to the dealership.
they said the error code had cleared itself but my check engine light stayed on.
when they looked in the history they said that it was an error with the accelerator sensor.
Hopefully it won't happen again.
