Unhappy can only shift if car is moving or off.

I'm sure it's my clutch that is the issue but if you think it's something else let me know.

So i was driving today and when trying to shift into second, the shifter was pushed out of second and that's when the problems started. Next stop sign it took me a minute to get it back into first gear. then next intersection the car stalled when i came to a complete stop. (clutch engaged like normal.) I restarted it and could not get it in first gear. I had to turn my car off and put it in first. Then when i turn the ignition the car shoots forward and starts to go. (starts like a push hill start) and when I shift while the car is moving, you need 3 times the usual force to shift gears as well.

I'd like to see if I can find a possible problem before mazda decides to charge me out the *** for diagnostics and such.

could be that your clutch hydraulic system needs bleeding ...

For one reason or another your clutch isn't disengaging properly... Have you had any work done on it recently that would have required them to mess with anything involving the clutch recently?

no work recently done that I know of. I bought the car a few moths ago so can't give a for sure answer. This problem appeared instantly, did not build up to the problem it is now.

It depends... Judging from your username, I am guessing that it is an '04. With a 2004 there would not be a warranty still covering it unless it is a faulty clutch pedal bracket (which it could be). In which case they actually just extended the warranty for the clutch pedal assembly to 8 years 100k miles...

So whether it is under warranty depends on exactly what is wrong with it. I would just go ahead and take it in. There is a decent chance that it will be covered, and given what your symptoms are you are going to need to have something fixed anyway.

I can tell any mechanism can fail regardless the mileage or the use

Union so it wasn't covered by that extended warranty? Im having the same problem with my 04 and it seems like bad manufacturing and not something that I necessarily did beyond normal use

no a worn clutch would be slipping when put the foot down. yours is not en/disengaging properly which could be the pedal or could be the hydraulic system

make sure your transmission guy explains how a new clutch is going to fix the issue you're having before he does any work.

Yeah, a worn clutch would make it where it wouldn't engage properly. It sounds like yours isn't disengaging properly

He said it was a bearing on the input shaft right before the transmission that failed. Car has 61,000km on it and had to previous owners. So at least i know my clutch is new, and not worn.

Yeah i already had my girl taken in. She's back out on the road now and she's driving like a dream. (yes it took my $1,500 to get her back that way) and the clutch is super light though now. is this normal? or is this because someone adjusted the spring on the clutch?
