ok im freaking out cuz i just got my rx8 like a month ago, had to replace the front crank seal, new thermostat hoses and the cool sub tank, also just got a brand new radiator. i have a huge loss in low end torque like when i acceclerate i can only hit like 3o mph in first gear and the car feels shakey, feels like very very slow acceleration, im reading it could be something with the catalytic convertor..??? any help pleaseeeee!!!

 

Is your CEL on? Try to get trouble code read first.

 

no the cel is not on, i had it checked alittle bit ago with the code and it said catalytic deffiencey but i think thats cuz of the thermostat hoses which were replaces and now the cel is off

Less starting threads and more reading existing threads. There multiple threads on power loss already. Your asking people to diagnose your issue with very limited information and that is just not possible.

Start by reading the threads in my signature.

 

You told us nothing about the car. So, I will stab at a guess. Clutch is going if it is MT. Or the mechanic replacing the thermostat bent part of the Eccentric Shaft Position Sensor on the pulley.

you need to write descriptive titles for your threads. I have fixed this one but if we see another one from you that just says "help" or some other nonsense like that we will just close/delete the thread.

second you need to put your thread in the correct place. /you have series 1 rx-8 and a problem you want help diagnosing. so this thread should be ( and will be in amoment when i move it) in the Trouble Shooting section not "General Auto" where you started it.

third - tell us about the car. not everyone knows your car. what year , how many miles, how many miles/ how much time has this problem been occurring, what mods etc
