Can anyone identify this?

I have no idea what this does, it flashes at times and i dont think it has anything to do with the security system. The button (as far as i can tell) doesn't do anything when pressed. It is located on the lower left side under the steering near the pedals. As the pictures show.

Edit: not sure how to attach images so they show in the thread without having to "open" them.

Try following the wire and see where it goes...
We can guess all day long, but since its not an OEM button, we can't tell over the internet.

I can tell you that's not stock for one.

My Miata use to have something similar that flashed when the chip key was no in it. If the little chipped key wasn't in it would not allow the engine to start, it was for security.

What does it link up to under the dash?

If you open the files in Paint, save as a jpg, then go to advance edit, use the file attachment tool (below the reply box a bit), load the 2 files as attachments. Right click the attachment link, select "Copy link address", click the icon for inserting a picture, paste into the text box (attachment link will paste), repeat for the 2nd one.

+1, not to be a dick but i usually just pass over threads that make me download a picture and then have to find it on my computer. also you can use a website like photobucket, then upload and then insert the image.

Yeah then there is a possibility you might want to troll everyone with a virus of some sort.

I'm on a Mac so I didn't care to click, this time.

Ok, so, while i had my center console and some other stuff apart for some mods to the radio i took some pics of the wires and where they go. Looks like it goes into the steering column. The purple, orange and black wires.

^ broken images, i cant see them, can you re upload?

Use photobucket and then click on the picture, on the right it should give you "email link" "direct link" "html code" "IMG code" select IMG code and then just paste it right in here. You dont have to click "Insert image" in rx8club when posting if it already has the *[IMG][/IMG]* tags
