A/C Problem

A/C Problem
Hey All,
I live is hot *** Arizona and summer is coming up really soon, its just going to get hotter... Problem is my A/C blows hot air when the car is either idle or not moving....the faster I go the colder the a/c gets....I trying to figure out if its just a lack of refrigerant or there is a problem with the fan. I am not sure if there is more than one fan for the A/C systems as far blowers go....I know theres a fan that pulls air over the condenser and blowers in the dash...I went outside and tried to listen for a fan in the engine compartment and heard a fan turn out but not sure if its the one for the a/c. When I checked this the car had not been running for hours so I dont think it was the fan to cool the car off. IF you cant tell I dont know a ton about cars....but I would love to learn!!!!
Hopefully I can get some help from some smart guys off here. Thanks in advance.

The electric fan should turn on when the A/C clutch engages. You should be able to hear a solid "CLICK" (outside the car, with the hood open) when the A/C clutch engages and disengages. If you hear the fan turn on with the A/C clutch, or the fan stays on altogether, then it's a low refrigerant issue.

Welcome,
Check out the mods in the "Spend your First $100" thread in my sig. I had the same problems. One was air flowing out of the engine compartment back in front of the radiator. There is a mod for that.
If the car is not overheating, then your fans are likely working. It is good to check them anyway. If you do not have a Cobb, the fans on low mod is a good one as well. It makes sure that things do not get too hot. Once the AC is heat soaked, it really takes a long time to cool down.
This would be a little easier to guess also if we knew the year, miles and any mods...
It could also be low refrigerant, but I would make sure that the other stuff (air flow, fans) before I opened the system. When I first had the problem, I did the thread stuff (the reason I created the thread) and it all cooled back down nicely.

Do the A/C mod.
Raise the back of the hood with washers.
Remove the black seal in back fire wall that is flush against hood.
All of these are in DIY.
Contact your local club meet guys.
If you lucky... BHR is in your neck of the woods, or should I say sand?
