I'm curious if this has happened to anyone else yet & how it was dealt with. When I turn on my Air Conditioning, water starts to drip down on the passenger side floorboard. First it makes a sound like a plastic bag caught in a fan then starts leaking drips of water- heavily. Enough water in a 15 minute trip to soak the carpet floor mat and get the padding underneath wet. This started a Couple of weeks ago and today I have time to break down the unit and start trying to figure out what is going on. I'm going to pull the cabin filter and see if I can look inside the thing. After pulling the glovebox the other day I can clearly see the water is dripping out from the gray foam seal holding two parts of the big white A/C box together. What's really curious to me is when I make a hard right hand turn it stops altogether. When I make a hard left hand turn it starts again. WTF!? Please tell me someone else has been through this and has a miracle solution! I'll have rotten, reeking Pontiac carpet if I can't fix this! I hope I just missed a thread that covers this...

the HVAC housing drain is clogged. Typical for any vehicle. not for sure but it is probably on the fire wall toward to right side.

^^^ that's it.......It's on the firewall at the highest part of the notch for the tranny. It's kinda beside the oil filter and slightly to the rear. It looks like a pinched rubber tube or "duck lips" as my kid said.

If you give that area a blast with an air nozzle it should open up and dump about a quart of water out. Then give it a spray with silicone lube to keep it from sticking together

That was it. the "lips" had pretty much melted together. I waited untill I did an oil change and had the filter off. Made it pretty easy to work with. I basterdized it and took the tube off entirely. I swear to you my a/c works better now than the day i got the car.

i'm a car noob and i really don't get it when you mentioned about the duck lip thingy.

i have the same problem but don't know where to look. Do i pop open the hood or do i access the firewall from the cabin? i would greatly appreciate it if someone can post me a picture on how that rubber tube and duck lips looked like.. many thanks..

Ok...here it is (crappy picture but WTF..its 5 AM) The upper intake is removed in this picture... The drain is circled in black.........

This is behind and between the oil filter (blue in picture) and the rear engine lift hook

Is there an easy way to get to this rubber tube? I've tried reaching down to grab it but it seems impossible =/

Remove the upper intake, or have very skinny arms. I was able to reach in from the driver side just far enough to pinch the tube open and feel the water run out. I have skinny arms but it wasn't too hard and I didn't lose any skin.

Sorry to resurrect an old topic, but this just started happening to me last night (actually, my wife's feet were soaked as she was the passenger, ha). Anyway, I'm sure this is the issue, but I wanted to ask you what you did to "bastardize" the tube? Did you completely replace it with a better version from a hardware store or something? I'd be interested in fixing this for good once I get under the hood to check it out.

EDIT: I'm slow, just re-read your post. Removed the tube completely. Did it just pull right off?

I'm having the same problem but I can't even see what is in the picture on my car. How involved is it to remove the intake? Any gaskets there that would need to be replace or anything that might need a computer reset? I really don't want to take this to the dealer.

Lynn...........study that picture. See the object in blue that is circular? That's the top of the oil filter, look to the left of that at the fire wall. It will look like a set of black rubber "duck lips". No need for dealer, you can reach it.
A lot of times just squeezing and manipulating with your fingers is enough to unclog it.
You'll know when water comes seeping out.

it's easy as **** to reach that pipe/duck lip. if you can't find it, you're blind, find someone who is not blind to find it for you.

I managed to get my arm in between the intake and reach the hose and squeezed it till I felt the water drain out. A few scrapes on my arm is worth not having to take it to the dealer.

Confirmed the problem was the lips sticking together
I easily reached the area with big hands and sausage fingers.

So problem did come back even after draining those duckies.
Turns out it was my heating core that was leaking. Did a DIY by pass and now im good to go.
