A/C Fan randomly starts/stops

Any ideas what could cause this? The fan will randomly kick on or off when it's in the "on" position, and I don't have a clue what's causing it. When it kicks off, I can still feel the cold air or heat if I put my hand right up against the vent so hopefully it's something cheap and simple but I dunno

After digging around some more I'm reading that with cars other than the RX8 this can be a result of the blower not connected properly, the blower dead, or the switch is caput. Any idea where these parts are on our car and how to get to them?

Thanks!

The car's A/C will run depending on the zone where the blower fan is selected. Any windshield setting and I believe the floor setting will turn on the compressor. The dash vent setting will not.
The A/C turns on to remove moisture from the air.

Repeat after me, when inside your car:
"The power of Christ compels you"

On a more serious note, your fan switch or fan motor my be dying.

Is there any way to check this on my own? Also, any idea where these physically are inside the car?

If not, know of a good ac repair shop in Orlando?

doesnt this happen if you have the AC on and you dont select the recirculate button?

try putting on recirculate when the ac is on

i may be completely wrong with this but i remember a post talking about something with the AC and the recirculate button

1. Ambient air temperature is 68 deg. F or higher.
2. HVAC control mode is in "FACE" mode.
3. HVAC temperature is in maximum cool setting.

1. Verify ignition switch is in OFF position.
2. Press and hold the front defrost and air intake selector buttons simultaneously.
3. Turn the ignition key to the "ACC" position for 3 seconds.
(Continue to hold the buttons down from step #2.)
4. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position for 3 seconds.

5. Successful programming will be confirmed by the rear defrost indicator light flashing 3 times.

NOTE: If vehicle's battery dies or cables are removed, the programming will not be retained and must be performed again.

Swoope: yeah, the head has been in and out of the car at least 7 times, if not more. I had some major issues at one point with the lcd display and dealer had a hell of a time getting it fixed as the original owner did a shitty job of installing a disc changer in the trunk and hosed the wiring.

Konig: It's not that, man. The fan is what's not turning on/off. The ac still defaults to recirc and is still ice cold (when the fan works).
