Bumpy Ride...

Hello, I just recently bought an 04 AT RX-8. About a week ago. I'm pretty new to the Rotary Engine and such. So I'm still learning. My question is, every time I turn on my engine and drive I feel like I'm always on a bumpy rode...I miss driving smooth.

My question is, do you think the engine needs to be cooled down once I start it off? like wait for a minute? or do you think it is a Tech Problem? and I need to bring it toa Mazda Dealership???

Thank you.

Are you sure it's not the road? Stiff suspension, low profile tires - you should feel every bump. Make sure the tires are not overinflated.

Do you mean there is a lot of vibration?

Based on the fact that you bought an 04, assume the vehicle is used. Are you still on factory Bridgestone tires? How many miles on tires? Are you getting much road noise off the tires when they feel "bumpy"?

speaking of bumpy ride and low profile tires.....235/40/18 would be the reason of that?i feel a very very little vibration (not on the wheel).wheel alignment and balancing were done last week but everything ok.

This thread is years old, but its exactly the problem I have now. Does anyone (j0eStER ?) know what it turned out to be and what to do about this issue? I love my car but I miss smooth riding too!

I bought an 04 a year ago and it had original tires, the ride was bumpy but it got bumpier over time. A month ago, I bought a brand new set of tires and I got a wider version of the original tires and even though its still bumpy, the ride is much smoother. so get a new set of tires, get a wider version, and make sure the tire pressure is right.
