Hi, I was just replacing my plugs, wires, and coils, and in the process of removing my Front Trailing coil, I sheared off the bolt. I attached pictures.
Not sure what to do about this. There's enough of the bolt that the coil sits on it. The other 3 coil nuts were removed and rethreaded fine.

Question: Is it a terrible idea to use a high temp epoxy like JB Weld or something if I just drip it down onto the post thru the guide hole of the coil and hold it in place that way? Then I could sort of ooze out over the recessed area around the guide hole to make a sort of "permanent" nut.

Thoughts? Obviously, getting a replacement mounting bracket would be ideal, but right now my car is jacked up in my garage, and I need to drive it in the morning.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

 

A dab of JB weld should hold it in place until you get a a new bracket.

 

Long zip tie around the underside of the bracket should hold it in place.

Are you saying to anchor the coil by the pronged socket? I see that there are little cutouts in the bracket below it that might be able to hold the zip tie. Also, regular nylon zip ties won't melt? I mean, I guess the coil is also made out of a similar plastic by the feel, but just curious. Zip tie would save me running to walmart for the jb weld
