Bad sound and p0661 (bank low)
I have an 05 AT that for the past several weeks has had the P0661 code coming on and off. Ive searched pretty readily for solutions and tried everything that I have read about on here short of replacing the solenoid. Since the code never stays on longer then a few drive cycles I'm thinking the solenoid is on the way out. So eventually I will replace it, but I want to make sure that that's exactly what I need to do. Also I have a slight exhaust/sweeter smell that comes in the cabin when im at idle at a light or stopped somewhere, and a different noise that I just noticed when at a drive-thru. I took some video of the sound, one in the drive-thru and the other when I changed my oil last weekend. All my maintenance is up to date (plugs, coils, wires, filter, etc), I've also cleaned the ESS sensor and the MAF. No upgrades to the car other than an aluminium radiator after my factory one bit the dust. Any help would be most greatful.

So I took the 8 into my local Mazda to see what they thought was going on, turns out that ALL 3 solenoids are failing under load. They tested fine when I tested them. So Im going to replace them all and see what happens. The smell is from my CAT apparently. No code is showing but its stored in the system. I already have a new mid-pipe with CAT to replace it so I m good there.
So my new question is, is it necessary to test the solenoids under load (when they open and close at designated RPMs)? Everything ive seen on here has said just to connect them to a 12v connection and test to make sure the air flow changes, and to swap the solenoids around to see if the code changes.
