lol.. will do... just drove the car..hard..i think i was trying to get it to blow up.. and i'm an angry bitch sooooo ..... when is a decent speed for the gears to change on an automatic? had at 64 before it went into third and 95 before it went into fourth..shifted smooth though..definitely enjoyed my foot action .. but yeah it reeks of gas when it idles for a minute! tried to take my cockatoo parrot for a spin and he nearly ripped my ear off..******* bird..he is such a chicken i've been spending the past month trying to teach him to say 'bok bok bok'..i think he is offended..lol

Ignore MPH for shift point. Look on your tachometer for where the red line starts.

Shift there.

I'm completely serious. This engine LOVES revs, revs do not harm it, pound it against the rev limiter. It's only there to keep the transmission from overheating anyway.

Considering you are "50 miles from civilization", you probably have plenty of roads to wind it out. Occasionally take it out, put it in manual shift mode, and from a slow roll, plant your right foot against the gas pedal and then nail it to the floor, click the upshift when you get to redline. Probably through 3rd gear if you have the room to do it safely, though at least 1st and 2nd if you don't. It's healthy for the engine (don't just sit up there, too much heat build up), but giving it a good wankle spanking periodically helps keep the ports clear, carbon buildup to a minimum, and is quite fun.

so i redlined the ocho.. alot...and yes it was funfuckintastic...didn't even mind almost killing the kids driving in it..giving it a minute then gonna start it and rev.. see what i hear.. its definitely lacking some power..didnt get to have the code read though...kids were starting to get crazy so to avoid driving us all off a cliff i thought coming home and have a margarita would be smarter..and less jail time..

Code is p2259 and they gave me an explanation that didn't explain anything. No ******* clue what they were talking about.

I think that code is the exhaust air injection system... which could be triggered by your catalystic converter being shot. But that's just an opinion!

Yes, P2259 is for the Secondary Air Injection system. Check the fuse (in the fuse panel under the hood.) If it is blown, it's possible that the air pump itself is seized. Which is usually caused by the one way check valve allowing air to come back up from the exhaust into the air pump. And often, the one way check valve fails due to a catalytic converter restriction.

So... Maybe... Cat caused valve to fail, valve caused air pump to fail, air pump caused fuse to fail, fuse caused Check Engine Light.

It's just a (pretty good) theory.

^ He explained it a lot better than me, but that could very well be what happened. :]
