Arming Alarm Doesn't Blink Tail Lights (Trunk is NOT Open)

Basically got car back from garage last night... indicators dont blink when the alarm key is pressed. The TRUNK is closed. The doors still lock and open as usual. Just no blinks..

Any ideas guys?

Did you check all four doors? Maybe a back door is technically open but closed enough for the front to close.

Hood?
Or if by garage you mean shop, did they do any work to the hood, trunk, or doors?
Close everything and try again.

Dunno, but suggest you take it back to the garage and threaten to keep talking in a REAL WHINEY VOICE until they fix it.

Assuming you've opened/closed the four doors and the trunk and that did not fix the problem, then open and close the hood - it's wired into the alarm system along with the trunk and doors.

Are you talking about the panic button? Can someone clarify which lights flash and when they flash?

Your hazard lights will flash twice when you unlock and once when you lock the car / arm the alarm (they are synonymous). If your car is already locked, and you press the key fob lock button again several minutes later, the lights don't flash again. You have to unlock it, then re-lock it. In other words, they don't flash unless the car goes from unlocked to locked.

My guess is that this problem has to do with the problem you report in another thread having to do with your passenger door lock. Take it back to that dealer and have him fix the problem.

I have the same problem...brand new car

I have the exact same problem. The only thing that seems to halfway work is when I am getting out of the car to hit the door lock button on the door, then when I get out and close the door they will start blinking. From that point forward (for a while atleast) they will blink when locked/unlocked via the remote. I have not been able to come up with a 'cookbook' method to reproduce the problem on demand. It seems to be totally random. For example, for the first 3 days I had the car all was fine, then they just quit flashing, and like the original poster said, the doors would indeed lock/unlock, just no flashing tail lights. Then about 3 days later they started working again. Then a few days later quit again...process repeats. As I said in the beginning, the best luck I have had at getting them to work again is using the manual door lock.

lock/unlock indicators

Same problem occurred to me. Check the lock of your trunk. See if everything works fine back there.

Wow... almost a 4 year resurrection.
At least this tells us some people are actually doing research on their car, even the older threads.

Hey thank you guys! Had this issue today and it was the hood latch wire. So if the trunk doesn't work I would try the hood latch. I tried everything too
