I had my coil around the out side of the ignition go bad on me with out any reason which made the car not able to read the key so the red light of the car just keep flashing but it will flash a code at you and tell you what is wrong.

Key on position Either it will flash code's listed below or If there are no malfunctions the security light illuminates for approximately 3 seconds and goes out.
DTC Table (Immobilizer System). A verified DTC code will get flashed 10 times repeatedly by the security light. with additional codes being flashed after the first code you make sure you sit there for a min and read them all. It if keeps flashing just one code back to back that's the only one you have
Security light flash pattern:
∩__∩_________ = No detected communication with the coil
∩__∩∩________ = Coil malfunction
∩__∩∩∩_______ = The key ID number data cannot be read or key ID registration error
∩__∩∩∩∩______ = The keyless control module cannot read key ID number data normally
∩__∩∩∩∩∩_____ = The keyless control module has detected unregistered key ID number
∩__∩∩∩∩∩∩____ = Communication error between the keyless control module and the PCM (no response or mismatched conditions)
∩∩__∩_________= Only one key ID number is registered
∩∩__∩∩_______ = Communication error between the keyless control module and the PCM (data transfer error)
∩∩__∩∩∩______ = ID number data in the PCM and the keyless control module do not match.
NOT ILLUMINATED = Keyless control module malfunction

Recently my battery died when I connected the cable I connected them wrong way round

Basically at first I was told to check main fuse which was ok....but I still changed it as I ordered one so thort I'd just put it on....I've checked all fuses and relays

The only fuse which had blown was the room fuse which I've replaced

I've even checked the ecu which seems fine

Been told maybe the Immobiliser not letting me start the car???

Oh yeah when I try to start the car the boot opens???? Which I found very weird

I am experiencing similar issues with a 2006 that has smart key. First smart card stopped working, scan showed that the bumper sensor has to be replaced. Ordered the bumper sensor and followed a post from another member to cut the wires and move the sensor inside the trunk. Followed the procedure, car runs but engine will never crank. Thanks for all the suggestions, just got back from dealership, they said it flooded... yet it also had the Anti-theft light malfunction.. something about it both happening at the same time when I cranked my car and it tried to start at a higher temperature.

I wonder if adding a turbo timer would resolve the flooding issue... so that it will keep the car running and heated afterwards.

I got that pattern and scanned for codes and got the b2141 No PCM ID stored in RKE.

i have the same problem antitheft system is on can’t start my vehicle. Had to let people come to see if they could get it start or rep program key everything you mention not having communication that’s exactly what scanners reads. Ima check my coils. Thanks for all that info


That happened when I was replacing the rear bumper antenna without removing my battery negative terminal.
