alot of probsss
alright in short im buying a new car.
ive been looking at the rx8 for a little over a month, i just love the style.
ive test drove one already and was so ready to buy it, but i wanted to research it more.
come to find out the more i look into it, the more lame it gets.
my biggest concern is the oil problem.
i believe its 5w-20 recommended for usa, 5w-30 elsewhere?
ok now ive read with 5w-20, required due to strict us regulations, is very thin. i know from common sense that oil that thin can barely lube my dick, seriously. supposivley since its so humid, hot, and common red light chillen mixed with this light oil will lead to a rebuild around 30k mi. and often whole new engines?
so ive seen solutions such as separate tanks for injections directly to the rotors/cylindars w.e, synthetic oils, heavier weight.. such as 5w-30. but wait, right before i read that i seen that if any other oil is used, your warranty is void.
so am i fucked in every direction with this?
alright, next prob.
actually ive seen alot in this fourm, that dosnt look good. but i love the styling so much im gonna ignore alot of the little stuff.
the one i wanna discuss though, is the transmission. i just read a sticky about the problems between 1st n 2nd gear. there wasnt much of a solution or reason stated, other than lets start a commitee and get back at mazda.
but through all this, i noticed alot of complaints came from ppl with '04s. and by the year '06 they seem to be flawless.
someone please clear this up for me, along with what advantages newer<older.
i love it n all, but that acura tl sounds better n better the more into it i go.

This is what is in my Mazda Manual....so not a problem...I had to show the Mazda-mech and thats all he needed. Some of us should be running 10X40wt or even 20X50wt in hot climates.
"Engine oil viscosity, or thickness, has an
effect on fuel economy and cold-weather
operation (starting and oil flow).
Low-viscosity engine oils can provide
improved fuel economy and cold-weather
performance.
But high-temperature weather conditions
require higher-viscosity engine oils for
satisfactory lubrication"
