Angry Airbag fault code

Hi, Firstly sorry if this has been covered but after searching the forum and google for 4 hours i can not find the answer...

I hve just purchased a 2006 rx-8, The air bag light is on and it flashes 5 times then 1 time then repeats the sequence, The car dealer (Not Mazda) told me the fault code related to the passenger seat belt locator so a original mazda replacement was supplied & fitted but he did not know how to remove the fault in the memory???

Was this flasing sequence correct for what has been replaced??

How can i reset the system? I have tried the Test by pressing the odometer reset button turning the ignition on and then off when "test" appears but it doesn't work, I have enen disconnected the battery, pressed the brake 10 times and then reconneced the battery, still no luck, I have also tried turning the ignition on and pressing the brake 20 times within 8 seconds but still no good.

Can anyone help me, I love this car and dont want to regret my purchase.

The airbag/safety system has nothing to do with other car systems. A Mazda *dealer* has the fault diagnosis plugin needed to run a proper diagnosis on the system. For liability reasons, I suspect they are the only ones who can do a proper diagnosis and reset.

You could also refer to the 159 pages in the Safety chapter of the factory service manual:
