3rd and 4th Gear issues
when i hit 9000 RPMs or higher in 2nd and shift to 3rd it sometimes grinds and when i hit anything over 7000 RPMs in 3rd and shifting to 4th it ALWAYS grinds and i am making sure i am stepping down on the clutch all the way, this never happend until i installed my RP short shifter. could i have installed it wrong? or do you think my clutch is going bad? i remember not putting any grease on the shifter before installing it could that even be the problem? need help guys

I feel like I have to be extra sensitive with the syncros after installing the AFE/RP shifter. I really have to rev match well, too, or I get a lot of syncro noise. Although I have not heard anyone complain about this shifter, I have to wonder in the back of my mind if it is putting extra strain on the transmission??

IF not the clutch, could be worn out or poorly lubricated syncros. I would try changing the trans fluid with new/better fluids first to see if this helps as many have had syncro issues due to poor/old fluids. I would recommend BG Syncroshift II as it really smoothed out and quieted down my trans. There are other good ones, but IMHO BG is the best.

I'm thinking it's the clutch too. The RP shifter is much stronger than the factory. I beat the crap out of it with really hard shifts and it actually seems to do better when I do that.
