Got the call yesterday. I'll be dropping the car off a week from thursday to have the Engine replaced. I'm excited I suppose, as my car has been running worse and worse (the cat is going AGAIN)...I'm doing everything I can to avoid being stuck in a SABLE as a loaner. He said he'd try to have a Mercury Millan available...not sure how much better that'd be.

 

You love the Sable and you know it. Try and get yourself another 500. I know the last one made you giddy with delight. I go in for the recall checkup on Monday. I asked for a loaner, though they didn't specify what it might be. If it sucks, I'll just drive it to my house, pick up my other car and drive that.

 

They'll have my car "at least" two days. Thursday...Friday...If they can't get it done by saturday I'd be stuck in the rental till monday! eek!

 

DMP: I guess I'm sort of happy for you on this one since I've followed all the "issues" you've had with your car the past year or so....hopefully this will solve it and you'll be back to ZOOM ZOOM'ing @ 9K in no time.

What's with the retarded rentals they're giving you? Not to gloat but I dropped mine off this morning for motor mounts and I got a new 06 Mazda 6 (fully loaded) Last time I got a Mustang..... Mercury Sablre?!

Having met dmp, he is most definitely a boy racer. I feel sorry for those who must live within 1000 miles of him. He does take excellent pictures though.

 

I'm both, I suppose. The dealership where i bought my car would give a mazda6 as the 'rental' - the new dealership, where the service dept DOESNT suck - is also a Lincoln Mercury dealer, and their service-loaners are sables. I'd GLADLY take most any new Japanese or Korean car over the sable...A mazda6 would be great - so would a mustang! Frankly, the soft gushy suspension on the sable literally made me sea-sick last time I had one.

 

I hope I fall in love with the car again. I've been thinking about trading it in recently - which is common practice anytime my car starts running like crap.

I am the safest driver I know, and the most courteous. And thanks - I get lucky, from time to time, with photos.
