I recently purchased a 2005 RX-8 with under 70k on it, during an inspection my mechanic noticed there was oil in the air box. He cleaned it out and then after about 200 miles of driving my check engine came on (p2096) and I then noticed more oil in the air box.

I did Google this topic before posting here but most of the posts regarding this problem were from several years ago and none of which really explained the exact cause just that this was an issue with some 04 and 05 models and that an oil catch can might be needed.

Any suggestions?
