2004 RX8 Problem with melting bumper

after i started and drove my 8 this morning i smelled something and I popped the hood and the engine was smoking. I walked around the car and found out that in the 15 minutes of driving this morning I melted at least a two inch hole in my bumper. Now my car doesn't start and I have no idea what is wrong with it.

Your post is a little short on details. Hole in the bumper where? Engine smoking from where? What are the diagnostic codes in the PCM?

it may or may not help, but please provide more info.

2004 you told us. What mods, maintenance history, previous problems, mileage, driving conditions, any recent unusual things, etc...

Was the smoke you mentioned coming FROM the engine bay, or could it have been smoke from the melting bumper that had traveled under the car to the engine bay?

I will warn you now, this doesnt sound good

I just bought the car three days ago and has been doing fine till now. The smoke was definitely coming from the engine. The hole is just above the right side exhaust tip. The left side melted as well but didn't make a hole. After I smelled smoke I drove directly home the whole round trip was about 15 minutes long. The heat gauge in the car was harldly above cold as it was -18 degrees celcious outside. After I smelled smoke my engine started to idle very low and seemed like it was about to shut down. I had to rev it pretty high just to keep from stalling when starting up. I really don't kno alot about rotary engines.
