06 transmission issues

does anyone have them? i saw the thread about 04 and 05 transmissions having issues but i could not find anything about 06 or higher having any transmission issues. im just wondering because i just bought a 06 rx8 and was wondering if there is anything that has been problematic with the 06 model rx8.

I have an 06 that I bought used with 27k miles, transmission works beautifully so far *knock on wood*

As far as I know, 2006 is where a number of issues got addressed and corrected. No idea if and how this applies to the tranny though.

Hey Samcs06, have an 09 rx8 r3 and had transmission issues after 2000 miles. Took it in and the mechanics were very surprised to hear about it (so I'm guessing this is not normally an issue) and had to contact Mazda NA. Apparently the 5th and 6th gear synchros have issues sometimes and Mazda has upgraded synchros in case that happens. Got those put in under warranty but it required a decent amount of man hours so I'd imagine it'd get up there in price if you had to do it out of warranty. Shifts as smooth as the day I bought it.

p.s. Great to see another rx8 roaming the streets of Louisville.

yea i thought i had transmission issues at first because i had a mazda 3 and the shifts in that were silky smooth and when i got the rx8 i didn't know i had to let the transmission warm up but after letting the transmission warm up it shifts just as smooth. what end of louisville do you live in? i live in the south end and i don't see many rx8s down here. i know there is a couple at geek squad city and we were talking about starting a rx8 club here in louisville maybe. duno the details yet though.
