[URGENT HELP] Need to identify this tube

Hi guys,

I desperately need some help here.

I was gonna have a look into replacing the ignition coil myself.

So,

1) I was removing the air intake inbox + air hose (which connects to the throttle body).

2) After that, I see the ignition coil, but after some look around, I know I cant replace it (lack of tool, need an extender arm).

3) So, I put back the parts together

4) BUT...... I HAVE AN EXTRA TUBE OUT OF NO WHERE.... can someone please help me to identify this tube, so that I can put it back?

Name: m76rhAU.jpg

Size: 957.8 KB

5) I also did start up the car, after putting back the intake... It seems fine, but I'm just very afraid, where this tube might belong to.... but I really cant see anywhere else this tube might to go..

PLEASE HELP !!

You should post a pic under your hood of where you were working. It might be easier to see where it comes from if it's missing.

That looks like just the protective sheathing that is on the heater hoses to prevent abrasion and not an actual hose. If it is really soft and flexible then that is definitely what that is, that is no heater hose or vacuum hose for the RX-8.

Technically, I was just removing the air-intake+hose.... I've put them all back together now.... uhrm, should I remove them again?

don't remove anything just snap a pic of the air box area where you were working. It will be a little easier to see if it's just a protective cover or a hose

I'm trying not to freak out as this is really my first time taking out the parts.... but because the dealership wants to charge me $300 labor just to replace the coils, I decided to have some courageous to try to do it myself... I really didn't expect this to happen on me ...

in the first pic it looks like some hoses are missing the sheath. If you get take a top down pic that shows the whole engine behind the air box I could compare my engine bay

?

Yeah, you're good on that. It looks too big to be a vacuum hose. So it must be a hose cover....how soft and easy is it to pinch?

See the hose right behind your throttle body pictured above?

See the cover that is on it? Does your mystery hose look like that one? If so it's just a cover, I wouldn't sweat it much.

I decided to give it another look, and took the air intake + air hose down again:

I hope to get some more input as to identifying this tube/hose and I'd just want to put it back (not being ****, but just abit afraid if I had messed up some stuff.

Side question, this is where I ran my problem into, as I don't extender arm (not sure if this is correct term) onto my Rachet, I was stumped at that point, and could no longer go further, unless I go buy one or somehow able to remove the red circle wiring thing
