Windshield spray level

I just found my spray level was so low today, it didn't even spray to half of the windshield. Does anyone know how to adjust it?

Try sticking a pin in the nozzle hole and rotating it up. Not sure the RX-8 works that way, but the nozzles I have worked with have a ball-like gizmo that will rotate for adjustment.

You can adjust the nozzles with a pin or needle as described above. Keep in mind though, that the aim points are fairly low by design. They're not meant to spray the whole windshield, just to get the fluid on and the wipers distribute it. If I have time I'll scan in the pic from the workshop manual.

The squiters move pretty easily. Don't do what I did. I took a pair of needly nosed pliers to mine. I though I was being prety gentle but still managed to deform one past correction. Take it easy.

my fluid level is completely full. Actually I didn't really remember how high the spray goes to and I think it was fine before. After I left my car for 3 months, I just felt it's not quite right.

I remember the first time I used mine... I thought they squirted pretty low compared to most cars. Right below the halfway point of the windshield.

I popped the nozzles off and put a shim under the windshield side and pushed them back in. This works pretty well, but the far right of the windshield still doesn't get much spray. I'll try the needle adjustment, though.

WINDSHIELD WASHER NOZZLE ADJUSTMENT

1. Insert a needle or an equivalent tool into the spray hole of the windshield washer nozzle, and adjust the nozzle direction as shown.

WINDSHIELD WASHER NOZZLE CLEANING

1. Clean the washer nozzle by inserting and moving a needle or an equivalent tool back and forth.

*

If the nozzle becomes clogged again after cleaning, remove the hose from washer nozzle. Make sure there is enough washer fluid. Then turn the washer switch on and flush the inside of the hose.

Mine squirts to the middle of the windshield, but once the wipers start going, the top still gets clean....what's the problem?
