Exactly. Here's the proper way to use it in a sentence:
"Your quarter mile time sucks. I'm going to show you how it's really done by posting an identical time."
Identical means better. It comes from the root words, "I'm dating identical twins."

if they are the same then the s2000 kits ppg have would be a direct fit.

they already have a syncro and a dog engagement for the s2000

The s2k tranny is definitely much smoother and more precise than the RX-8 box. If it really is the "same box", which I really doubt, then I dunno what they did to gimp it out for the RX-8, but it's unfortunate that they did.

2004 and later S2000s have carbon synchros (and ratios in at least some gears different from earlier versions). But that is only a tiny bit of how the two gearboxes feel different.
The RX-8 gearbox is fine for any normal use, and for most abnormal uses. Having driven our RX-8 and our S2000 a great deal, the real difference is how precise and smooth the S2000 gearbox is (and I don't have to hunt/fight to get it into reverse in the S2000). The S2000 gearbox is often called, in car mags, the best gearbox of any production car, and I would believe it. I can't believe that they are the same box, given how incredibly different they feel.
That said, I have no idea why anyone would want to go to the trouble and expense of putting an S2000 gearbox in an RX-8, unless (i) your present gearbox is shot, and (ii) it is a relatively simple procedure (which I doubt).
