I have seen in some threads mentioned can get 4 ignition coils for around $100. but the best price i can find is ~$45 each. Could anyone tell me where can get the cheap deals from? cheers.

they are aftermarket, a two year warranty...which means you can take them back if they need to be replaced. ive had one replaced at the dealership once and they gave me the packaging it was shipped in. and long behold i got the same ones from the store. why pay 48 bucks for the same product. they last,

 

So it looks like those are what is called OES, which is from suppliers who manufacture the OEM ones but might also sell them in different packaging for cheaper.

You might be onto something. I had wondered about those but didn't want to take a risk until I could actually physically see them.

You do know that Mazda don't make their coils right ?

same thing for plugs, would u buy Mazda plugs or NGK ? would u question NGK's plug ?

 

BTW, just to let everyone know, OEM ignition coil pricing has increased yet again in just the last week. I know because I was researching and calling vendors and THREE vendors changed their prices within 48 hours of each other (confirmed not just on the phone but also on their websites).

 

Yes I knew that but it would have been cool if people in the know would have let the others on this forum know that they are the SAME as the OEM ones not just some general type or whatever. Maybe you and others have actually done that in past threads but I didn't notice that while reading through a bunch of coil threads last week.

Next time, I'll run it by you on this forum to see what you think. But anyway, I already bought OEM ones from Mazmart for $43 per coil plus shipping (no sales tax to California). That's just before they increased their prices and one day after two other vendors (one not from this forum) increased their prices.

 

so now the question is, will you go and buy them from mazda? or online?

Well too late for me now but from now on I'll buy the OES ones from online for cheap. Regardless, it's good that people like you and nycgps are getting the word out.

I can tell you they're exactly the same. even have the same part number stamp on the coil. Made in Japan.

been using it for 1K miles. no issue whatsoever.

no pictures now cuz I already threw my old OEM coils away.

 

nycgps, did you buy the same BWD coils from Advance Auto Parts (AAP) that Moseph did or some other OES brand from some other website?

The coils from Advance Auto Parts have AAP's own part number (E1001) but I'm inferring you're not talking about that number but rather a part number that is actually physically stamped onto the coil.

It looks like they're labeled as either "Standard Motor Products" and/or "Genuine Intermotor Quality." The AAP coils are labeled "BWD/Intermotor."

Can we assume they are all the same or essentially the same (if from different manufacturers)?

oreilys are life time warranty. So if they go out in 5K miles or 30K miles or last a life time it makes no difference. You can return them anytime no questions asked and get a new set until you get rid of the car.

 

Yes, I remember the thread with the guy who bought O'Reilly coils (don't remember if it was you).

But the question, then, is are those the same as OEM (i.e., are they from an OES supplier/manufacturer) like the Advance Auto Parts coils are? Or are they just generic ones?

Only problem I'm running into is they've been out of stock for 2 weeks at Advance. Also, there is almost always a $15 or $20 off of a $100 purchase at Advance online.

 

here's what i did. go to advanceautoparts.com and set you up an account. after that put the 4 coils in your cart, on the promo code option type BIG40 and see the 40% off discount. i added a K&N oil filter and 3 drain plug gaskets to fulfill the "over $75.00 free shipping qualification" pay 75 bucks and some change for 4 coils a filter and some gaskets! if coils are not in stock call the customer service number and complain

 

With a Lifetime Warranty, hell you can change them every 5K and your car will ALWAYS @ its top performance.

Suck *** thing is there is no Oreilly around NYC (not even Tri state) so might be a problem for me.



It doesn't matter how many times you complain, they will either tell you to "go to the shop and order it directly" or "need to wait"

Its all made by the same manufacture in Japan.

As far as I know there is no other manufacture making this kind of coils. correct me if wrong.

I just ordered a set of coils from autozone. They were duralast for 21.99 each with a 2 year warranty. I really hope they wlll be good enough for now. My car started to run poorly today and I have a misfire in rotor chamber 2. I was planning on ordering the BHR ignition but I don't want to wait that long. Hopefully my fuel mileage will increase as well.
