what is wrong with my car?

hi i am from Turkey and i have a 231 hp 6spd it is at 1400 km 1000mile)

i was not satisfied with the performance but i was not sure so i decided to try with my friends car.His car is a Opel Astra coupe Turbo

Configuration IL 4
Weight 1245 kg / 2745 lbs
Valvetrain 16 - 4 per cylinder
Displacement 1998 cc / 121.9 cu in
Power 141.7 kw / 190.0 bhp @ 5400 rpm
Torque 250 nm / 184.4 ft lbs @ 1950 rpm
Top Speed 245 kph / 152.2 mph
0 - 60 mph 7.5 sec

and now i am sure he is beating me when we try rolling
i cant understand if i have 41hp more then him how can he beat me is it about torque?

somebody said me that after 10K kilometers my car will gain like 10 hp is it true or is my car in its best condition. Please help me
p.s. i changed my oil at 1000km we put 4 liter of 5*40 oil

maybe i was there i am not sure.i was beated him at stop & go but he has traction control and he can't disable it. i try 0-60 of my car few times i am not sure with the result but i am sure it much more than 6 sec. (like 8 sec maybe more)i was counting myself so don't be suprised :P

so you are saying that it is all normal of losing against a 40 hp less and there will be no gain after 10k kilometers (very upset that i was hoped)

Looks like you didn't do research before you bought the 8, plus you are clueless about power weight ratio, etc.

Mehkor,

Your car IS faster BUT your car is a N/A high output engine. It makes the best of it above 5.500. Your friend's car is turbocharged, meaning he's got plenty of torque low down, and therefore more power. Try to use the upper part of the rev band and you'll be amazed.

Trust me, my other car is an impreza turbo.

BTW. People in spain have managed sub 7 sec 0-100 Km/h times just launching at 5000. Improve your launching technique and you'll beat him in no time

Lets not forget folks, that those numbers are not usually accurate. it's really about wheel hp and torque, not what the factory specs say. Chances are that guys car has a slightly underrated hp rating, and the rx8 may be slightly overrated, because there are fluctuations in each model, and some never produce the power they should. Then, combine the turbo, weight, and torque factor, and BAM: game set match. The SRT is rated like 8hp less then the RX8, and we all know what would happen vs an rx8 in a race, especially once rolling. I just hold no stock in those numbers anymore. They are a joke as far as I am concerned.
