what is the cause of this happening?

i had to take my car into mazda on friday of last week cuz my clutch master cylinder was gone (at 42000 miles)...i mean the clutch pedal was all the way on the floor and there wasnt a clutch anymore...so i took it to mazda and they replaced with a new one under warantee but once i got it back it seemed as though the cluth had a higher catch point. the question is how did my master cylinder go out? and is it normal that my catch point is higher?
thanks in advance

a defect part is common, and the catch point is higher is normal.
just think before your master is leaking so even you press the pedal the clutch is relasing slowly, so if half way is your catch point the real catch is higher.
