Intake and exhaust. Maybe a bit more than $1K but that is what I would do.

On the other hand, I might do suspension changes. The rear end needs more damping and higher spring rates. Some bigger anti-roll bars front and rear would be good as well.

My vote goes for clutch with more clamp and lightened flywheel. I think you'll net more of a gain with a lighter flywheel than an intake and exhaust mod. SEARCH, look around. Most of us are hungry for more power to the ground. OR get an Interceptor-X with a tune.

Racing Beat oil screens & ac screen to protect your investment, Racing beat suspension package w/ end links to further improve handling...then you will have about $250-$300 to buy an intake or whatever else you want to buy.

Oil cooler and A/C screens from wherever you get them.

#1 mod in any RX-8 drivers book....no doubt.

Agree, this is mandatory, staying 20 feet away from cars in front will still get damaged. Performance wise I would go for flywheel and final gear.

Depends on where you're at. Do you want additional HP, improved handling or just some bling? Forget additional HP for $1K. You will get very little for that and if you don't belive me go the the Racing Beat web site and do some reading. They are a credible source for such info. For improved handling the best buy for the buck would be sway bars first and then maybe some aftermarket shocks/springs. But you'll be close to your limit. For bling, there are many choices from the popular fender strakes, clear side markers, wheels, wings, blah, blah, blah. Check out the accessories for sale on the Rosenthal web site and other aftermarket vendor sites.

Ya, we need to hear from Howdy1606. What are you looking for in mods. Do you want Show or Go? If go, what are you going to do? Street, Autocross, Track or Drag.

1 - ac/oil cooler screens
2 - replace the stock battery with Optima Yellow-Top
3 - Spare tire kit (if you don't already have)
4 - cargo net
5 - Dension Neo-Ion ipod adapter

Ya, what he said. The two together would run more than your limit. I got the Mazdaspeed flywheel. Mazmart is selling the 4.77 rearend.

Get some 17" wheels like forum member olddragger did. Essentially the same gearing advantage as the 4.77 gear, only you've got a good bit less rotating weight off the suspension as well.

Of course, judging by your avatar, I'm guessing that smaller wheels aren't really an option.
