Sometimes my 8 will sorta pop when im driving it like if i floor it alittle. I have an 04 gt and recently i installed an intake and the noise got alittle louder.

The noise only happens around higher RPMs.

My spark plugs need to be replaced BADLY. I have new ones just waiting for a day to do them.

Could this popping be the spark plugs not giving off a goosd spark? I feel like its like backfiring but coming from the engine.

Only thing i can think of..what do yous think?

Yes, your car id pig rich and backfiring.

Get those new plugs in.

not sure about the noise, but I can say I changed my plugs and there was nothing to it, all 8 owners should be able to pull this off.

So the popping from the engine bay is just backfiring?

so the new plugs should make it go away.

sounds like my engines shot but really its just popping loud as hell.

yea this will happen. you have a rotary bud. when your on the throttle you get a lot of excess fuel build up and when it exits the exhaust you here the pop. becuase it converges with the the o2.
if you were no cat and cat back exhaust youd pop everytime you shift.
