Water Leaks - Inside!!!!!!

Just been out in the 8 and as I arrived home afetr driving fo about a hour I noticed water leaking from under the passenger side of the car. It stopped after turning off the engine, just going to see if it is related to the air con but it was dripping water pretty bad. Any one see this before?

What color is it? What does it smell like?

If its clear and doesn't smell like antifreeze or oil, I think its safe to say it was just the A/C doing its thing. I get this sometimes also.

Define pretty bad. It's probably just the A/C. Look at it(Clear?), feel it(oily?), smell it(oil or anti-freeze?), taste it......in that order if need be. Hopefully you will stop before you get to the taste it portion!

I agree with the above answers - condensed water from the A/C. I had quite a lot of water behind the passenger seat after parking downhill on a very hot day and a longer drive.

Inside the cabin or underneath the car? That's two different issues. Under the car is one thing, but if you had it behind the passenger seat, then it should have been wet in front of the passenger seat and probably means your evaporator pan drain plug is clogged. IF....these cars even have one, and I would assume so.......most do.

TimP, your car is okay.
P.S. Welcome to the forum.

AQA101,
We need more detail.
What year is the car: Mileage?
Colour, smell of the water.

It could be as simple as blocked drainage tubes from the AC.

DB,

The OP I'm not worried about........that's just his A/C dripping....I'm pretty sure. I curious about the person in Germany because they imply it's INSIDE the car.

Inside the car...your drain for the A/c evaporator is plugged. It is a black rubber tube on the firewall directly above the hump for the tranny.... Kinda behind the oil filter area

Outside...the drain is working normally........

I'm having the same issue; it's leaking what seems to be water behind the glove compartment. It also stops leaking whenever I turn the AC off.

Is this something that would be easy to unclog myself (if that is the issue) or is it a hassle to get at?

Very easy, though hard to see.

The rubber forms 'lips' right at the top of the transmission hump in the firewall, like dannobre says, up above the oil filter.

Should be able to unstick the rubber with finger, then put grease or silicone there to stop 'em sticking together.
