When i first got my car, it was really smooth and felt like the car has not on when on idle. But lately, i noticed my car vibrates now like the engine seems to be working a lot more in idle. I can feel the car sort of thump feel like beats every 5 sec. I shut off my radio so it can't be that if ur thinking that. But its such an awkward feel and during idle i feel as it isnt smooth anymore. Is this vibration and thumping normal? Or should i get it fixed? Thanks a lot for your replies.

 

I'm not sure what you mean by vibration. If you mean a slight grinding noise when your foot is not on the clutch, then it's probably normal (do a search because this topic has been discussed a lot).

The irregular, almost imperceptible thump during idle is also supposedly normal for the rotary. Watch your tachometer and it seems to jump just a tiny bit when the thump happens, indicating it is something coming from the engine. If you get out of your car and go to the tailpipes and listen closely, you can detect it there, too (this topic has also been discussed quite a bit in the forum).

 

I did a search, couldnt find the vibration and thump feel. I know my exhaust does the thumping but i wasn't sure if that was related to the feel inside. But when i first got the car, it was so smooth, until now when in idle, it acually feels like my car is on like i can feel the car vibrate inside and feel the thumps more clearly. ANd there is no grinding. Dunno if its just normal of rotary. I know my 94 accord feels vibraty, but not the thumb feel. but its so BEAT AND OLD!
