I'm trying to sell my factory wheels, and a guy asked me what brand they were. Supposedly there are three brands of wheels. And apparently not all brands fit all RX8's. Anyone know anything about this? If so, how do I know what brand mine are. The only markings I've seen on the wheel are a bunch of Japanese symbols on the inside of the wheel. Thanks for any info.

 

I was actually getting ready to post a similar question - don't mean to hijack, but who makes the OEM 8 wheels? I know Enkei makes most OEM Honda wheels.

I was told that two of the brands were u-mold and hitachi.

 

THe Collision Repair Guide lists them as Enkei. Perhaps the OE are something else, but it is unlikely.

 

3 brands that don't fit all RX-8s - that sounds crazy! When I bought my extra set of stock wheels, I don't recall the dealer telling this bit about the 3 brands.

I wonder if the confusion is stock 18", stock 16", and the 18" polished accessory wheels?

Picture of back of wheel by member "syntrix". This is an 18" stock wheel, 8" wide, 50mm offset as you might guess from the "J18X8 JJ 50". Anyone know what the "06" is?
