vacuum lines?

Does anybody have DIY for finding/checking/replacing vacuum lines for a 04 rx8.

Ive seafoamed my car, checked the air filter..it has a new fuel pump/filter. Its not low on oil. I would like to check to see if i have a break in the vacuum lines next before i go ahead and try to replace the cat converter

its running rough..goes from abut 500-1500 rpm on its own, struggles to stay alive and i have a massive loss of power. Sputtering from the exhaust..any help would be GREATLY appreciated

A simple vacuum leak won't do that. The longer you mess around with a clogged cat, the worse it will get.

Depending on where you live ................................................
Remove it completely

You are on the hook for understanding what this means

It means your girlfriend will smell like rotten eggs everytime she rides in your car.

If you're in California, the only legal solution is OEM ~$1100

If you're in the other 49 states, a cheaper legal solution is the bolt-on magnaflow, or weld in just their cat. Go to the Magnaflow site, enter your car details, and it will give you 4 choices that you can buy cheaper for online retailers.

For a weld-in, I'm using a Magnaflow metallic substrate (no melting ceramic) #59959. That's the 3" version, the 2.5 inch version is 59956. No CEL, no stink, and rugged, but probably won't pass an official sniffer test. $100 from Summit Racing.

The cheapest "solution" is to knock the substrate out of your fried cat. (Visually inspect first to see if it's clogged or melted.

Then, new coils plugs and wires so the misfires (which destroy cats) don't happen again.
