Using low impedance injectors.

Question #1: Can the stock 6 port PCM handle driving one set of low impedance injectors in the secondary position?

Question #1a: If not, what physical alterations (resistor pack?) could be done to allow the stock computer to do it?

Question #1b: If it can, what allows it to do so?

Question #2: WHat allows the microtech system to run low impedance injectors?

I should note that I have been mistakenly running low impedance injectors in the secondary position for a few weeks and several hundred miles.

#1 - No. You could burn up the PCM.

#2 - Int-X has injector drivers that can handle low, high, or a combination of the two

So are you saying that based on an understanding of the setup of the computer or from extrapolation from other systems? Also, based on extrapolation, is there not some threashold of resistance in total from all the injectors that will be sufficient to allow some low impedance injectors to be used?

I only ask because fixing this will require a significant investment and downtime.

I am saying this based on a discussion I had while sitting in my garage with MazdaManiac and Charles R. Hill testing 7 different sets of injectors. Then based on emails and a phone conversation I had with Scott Glassburn about how the int X handles injectors.

If you are going to run the OEM computer for your EMS then you should be running high impendance injectors in all the banks.

Thanks. Also double thanks for the primary idea. Going to go down and try it out in a bit.
