Use Series2 OMP when rebuilding a Series1 engine

Is it any of you guys who have used Series 2 OMP, and thereby a S2 rotor housing, when rebuilding?

My understanding is that S2 has three OMP nozzles, while S1 has two. I guess they didn't do that just for fun. So, since I'm planning a rebuild, I was wondering if a S2 "upgrade" would be a lot of work or a good idea. Piping would definitively had to be re- done, two extra injectors, and i guess the "lump" pipes are connected to needs to be from a series2 as well, but does the OMP it self have to be replaced?

In general: Do any of you guys with more knowledge think it is a good idea?

no it's NOT a good idea.

why? cuz it will NOT work.

You need to double the oil pressure, re-work all the electrical wiring.

if u want more protection just premix, it's better than ANY OMP anyway.

But do whack the S2 water pump on whilst you're there.

It only needs one bolt hold filing out slightly.

Double the oil pressure, really? Why? I've understod that OMP just sip oil from the pan, then press the oil out of the nozzles by itself. Have I gotten something totally wrong, perhaps?

By rewiring you say that the series1 and series2 OMP is different?

And I register that people are split regarding premix vs OMP. Personally I do not think that premixing gives as efficient lubrication of sideseals as OMP. I run both to get as god lubrication as possible "all over".

It's not just about rewiring. the s2 oil pump is completely different, it would be pretty tricky to run it with the OE s1 ecu.
Just forget about it and premix while cranking up the s1 omp values with an accessport or fiddle with its stepper motor.

Because had you searched for five minutes about the S2 engine and oil metering system you would have realized getting the S2 OMP system to work on an S1 is damn near impossible without swapping quite a bit of parts and spending a ton of money.

When you're at it: just take your kid out of school and give him a laptop. Everything he's supposed to learn is at the Internet.

I ask dumb questions who "everyone" knows the answer to, because there are always someone else who has the same question. And when it comes to the test it shows time after time that the one asking "dumb" questions come out on top. So I'm not afraid of asking questions, as I do not need your or anyone else's approval in any way, a good thing about confidence.

What annoys me is your lack of common politeness. But as your post count suggest, you don't know when to shut it.
