Upgrading my exhaust. Suggestions?

I'm looking into upgrading the exhaust on my car because it sounds wimpy and I just want it to be more intimidating. There are just so many brands and idk which one is best. I was thinking mazdaspeed just because I like sticking to the mazda brand, but could I get more for my money with a different brand? Help help help.

I suggest browsing this thread: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-aftermarket-performance-modifications-23/rx-8-aftermarket-exhausts-summary-16442/
also watch lots of vids and try and hear some in person to see what YOU want.
I have the Tanabe and like it.
Remember the sound will vary if you get a mid-pipe or stick with the stock cat.

MS V2 is relatively cheaper when comparing it against other exhausts. And you aren't really "upgrading" with any aftermarket exhaust.

Best advice go on youtube and watch videos of 8s with various systems to get a feel for which ones you like the sound/look of and which ones you don't. Also check the video descriptions to see if they are running just the cat-back or a midpipe and or header because they can change the sound of a system. Some of the common systems are made by Borla, RacingBeat, Mazdaspeed, Greddy, HKS, Exoticspeed, and others I'm probably forgetting right now.

Also keep in mind that with the 8 you are mainly buying sound and looks rather than power with exhaust since the 8 doesn't gain much power from aftermarket exhaust systems.

I thought the tone was weak too. After I got a new midpipe, it improved a lot.

I've narrowed it down to Mazdaspeed and Borla but now the question is do I need the exhaust, midpipe, or both?

There is even option 4, either one. I would go with both though, if you want to try and stay legal get a midpipe with a high flow cat(BHR).

I've decided on Mazdaspeed but where's the cheapest source to buy it from? Mazda dealer is charging $850

EDIT: found this http://www.mazdaparts.org/mazdaspeedrx8exhaust.html. still open to cheaper options though.

Have you tried looking at the vendors section on this site? If they don't have it in stock, then they could order it for you. Good luck on finding it.

If you have a Mazdaspeed Motorsports account you can get it for several hundred dollars cheaper.

This one is a racing beat, but mazdaspeed and racing beat have pretty similar sounds
